We had such a great morning of science and discovery on our trip today and it has really helped our learning for our Ready, Steady, Grow project! We split into smaller groups and took turns trying the different activities.
First Miss Fee’s group went out to the garden to identify different wildlife. We had magnifying glasses and information sheets to classify what we saw:
We saw some very old flower pressings in the archives:
And did some frog-spotting by the pond:
Then we used microscopes to get even closer to the different parts of a flower – we found out about the pollen, stamen, stigma and honey guide on the petals:
Finally we made some careful observational drawings of plants:
